Solar panels can be mounted in various ways, the most common being roof mounted. They can be put on house roofs, garage roofs, shed roofs and also can be installed on metal frames in a garden or field.

The most common direction is south facing or a combination of directions. The effect of shadows from trees etc should be taken into account.

You can usually add extra panels to your system at a later date but discuss this with the installer when inetially planing your system.

The minimum starting number is 4 panels but 8 is much better. Aim eventually for 12 to 20 panels depending on space and budget.
